To assist young readers in choosing their Accelerated Reader books, we encourage you to visit the following website:

This website allows you to filter searches by various criteria such as age, subject, interest, author, book level, and more. It will help your child/ward in selecting appropriate books based on their preferences and reading level.

Once your child/ward has completed their first Star Reader assessment (usually by the end of September), they will determine their book level. It is advisable for them to choose books within that range to ensure they can progress in their reading without encountering overly challenging vocabulary. However, in the meantime, they should be encouraged to read books that captivate their interest, regardless of genre or whether they are fiction or non-fiction. They are free to explore both “new-to-them” literature and revisit their beloved favorites.
