Dear Parents and Carers,
We were pleased to welcome Jim Brown, Assistant Director, to Stranraer Academy last week for an attainment review. He noted the significant progress made in key areas, and I want to thank our staff, pupils and parents/carers for their hard work in driving this progress.
We currently meet or exceed most national benchmarks, and we are focused on maintaining these improvements across the school in the coming years.
I am also delighted to share that our Mobile Phone Policy has been recognised as an example of best practice and is being recommended for use across Dumfries and Galloway. This positive impact has been felt in our school, enhancing learning and wellbeing. The support we have had from parents and carers has been central to the success of this initiative. Thank you.
I’m proud to report that Stranraer Academy achieved the best relative Higher performance in 2024 across Dumfries and Galloway in English, Photography, Sociology, and Health & Food Technology. Demonstrating the quality of teaching, learning and community support here at Stranraer Academy.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Best wishes,
Jamie Farquhar
