Dear Parents/Carers,
Allow me to share some updates and important information with you regarding recent events and upcoming plans at our school.
The weather has been absolutely stunning this week, and it’s been a joy to see our students enjoying outdoor activities like softball/rounders, outdoor classrooms, and the release of home-reared butterflies.
Awards Ceremonies
I would like to express my gratitude to everyone involved in the Senior Awards Ceremony held last night. It was a wonderful event that recognised significant achievements. Thank you to everyone who attended. We have more Awards Ceremonies scheduled for next week on Tuesday and Thursday, and we would be delighted if you could join us.
Staffing
We are pleased to welcome Carolyn Nimmo-Scott, who will be joining us next week on a phased basis from Douglas Ewart High School. Carolyn will be working across Science/Biology and Aird, following in her father’s footsteps. Carolyn will be a valuable addition to our school.
We have received strong applications for the teacher of ASN post advertised, based in Aird, and we will be conducting interviews for this position next week. Additionally, our vacancies in Science, Music/Drama, and Business/IT will close next Monday. There is still time to encourage potential applicants to join our team.
I am delighted to officially welcome Carey Christensen, who recently joined our exceptional office team. The quantity and variety of work this team undertake is remarkable. Welcome aboard, Carey! You are joining an outstanding team within our great school community.
Litter
I would like to remind students of their responsibility in keeping the school tidy and creating a pleasant environment for everyone. I expect students to dispose of litter in the designated bins provided. Empty plastic bottles should be recycled in the red bins or bottle collection boxes located throughout the school. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
New Timetable
I want to commend everyone on the smooth transition to the new timetable and acknowledge the extraordinary empathy displayed by all our staff in supporting our students.
I hope you have a lovely weekend.
Best regards,
Mr Jamie Farquhar
Acting Headteacher
