Stranraer Academy’s Own Highland Hero!
Stranraer Academy’s Issie Lamberton has been kicking up her heels—literally! This talented pupil, an affiliated Highland Dancer with the Scottish Branch Royal Tank Regiment Association, wowed audiences at their annual gathering and was honoured to perform a stirring “farewell fling” during the remembrance parade.
And that was only the start. Earlier in the year, Issie earned a coveted place at the UK and European Scottish Dance Teachers Alliance Senior Highland Scholarship weekend after acing her Grading units. Competing against 25 dancers aged 14–18, Issie—one of the youngest in the senior section—proved she’s got the perfect blend of skill, style, and stamina:
Choreography Solo: 3rd place
Tribute Dance: 3rd place
Masterclass: Judges’ points awarded
Theory Written Exam: Recognition for scoring 80%+
Mr Farquhar might want to reinforce the trophy cabinet—Issie’s talent is threatening to overflow it! Huge congratulations to Issie for her dedication, hard work, and for proudly putting Stranraer Academy on the Highland dance map.
