Senior Phase Art & Design – After School Support and Key Dates

Stranraer Academy’s Art & Design department is delighted to offer After School Art sessions for S4–S6 pupils, providing dedicated time, expert support and a creative environment for students working at National 4, National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher levels.

After School Art runs every Tuesday and Wednesday from 3.30–6.00pm in Miss Anderson’s room (Art 2).

These sessions are open to all senior art students and are ideal for developing folio work, preparing for prelims, refining coursework, and building confidence with practical and written components.

Alongside after-school support, pupils should be aware of the key assessment and folio deadlines throughout the session. Expressive and Design folios must be completed to SQA standards by Friday 27th March 2026, with specific completion dates for individual units. Advanced Higher pupils should also note deadlines for folio sheets and the 2000-word contextual essay.

Exam Day for National 5 and Higher Art & Design is Tuesday 25th May 2026.

We strongly encourage all senior pupils to attend after-school sessions regularly to stay on track, meet deadlines confidently, and achieve their full creative potential.

If you have any questions, please speak to a member of the Art & Design department.
