Empowerment in Action: Listen Up, Speak Up Campaign
At Stranraer Academy, we believe in the power of community action to safeguard the well-being of our children. That’s why we’re proud to promote the NSPCC’s “Listen up, Speak up” campaign—a vital initiative aimed at empowering individuals to take action if they have concerns about a child or family.
What is Listen up, Speak up?
Listen up, Speak up is a proactive campaign by the NSPCC, designed to equip the public with the knowledge and tools to intervene effectively when they suspect a child may be at risk. By encouraging everyone to be vigilant and proactive, we can ensure that children always come first.
How Can You Get Involved?
Take the 10-minute Digital Training: Visit nspcc.org.uk/speakup and complete the free, bite-sized training. Learn to recognise signs of child vulnerability, steps to offer assistance, and how to initiate difficult conversations to ensure children’s safety.
Share the Training: Spread the word! Share the training with your friends, family, and colleagues. Together, we can reach more people and create a safer environment for our children.
Host a Listen up, Speak up Workshop: Consider organising a free, hour-long workshop at your workplace, school, club, or community group. These workshops provide invaluable insights and strategies for keeping children safe. For further information, please contact localcampaigns@nspcc.org.uk.
Why Your Support Matters
With your support, we can mobilise a greater number of people to participate in this crucial campaign. By raising awareness and empowering individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills, we can make a significant impact in keeping our children safe from harm.
Thank you for joining us in promoting the Listen up, Speak up campaign. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of children in our community and beyond.
