All the S3 pupils attending Stranraer Academy have been involved in the Youth Philanthropy Initiative, working in groups of 4/5 to engage with, raise awareness of and money for their chosen charities. This month the five strongest groups have presented a pitch for their charities and the most successful pitch has won a £3000 donation from the Wood Foundation. The charities which were represented were Wigtownshire's Woman’s Aid, Galloway Mental Health Association, Fed Up Café and The Riverside Day Centre.

After a very close competition, the judges decided the winning group were the group representing the Apex Foodbank which received £3000 from the Wood Foundation.
