Cultivating a Safe Environment: Our Commitment Against Bullying
We are unwavering in our dedication to fostering a secure and inclusive atmosphere at Stranraer Academy, where each pupil feels protected and valued. In alignment with this commitment, we strongly encourage all pupils to play an active role in addressing instances of bullying. The well-being of every individual within our community is of paramount importance, and we assure you that any information shared will be handled with the utmost confidentiality.
To streamline the reporting process, we have introduced an Anti-Bullying Poster adorned with a QR code. This code serves as an efficient and discreet means for pupils to report incidents of bullying. We acknowledge and respect pupils’ preferences in communication. Should a pupil choose not to engage in a conversation after reporting an incident, their decision will be honoured. Nevertheless, please be assured that appropriate actions will be taken to address and rectify the situation.
In the event that a pupil is identified as engaging in bullying behaviour, a prompt meeting with their parents and the headteacher will be arranged.
It is imperative to underscore our unequivocal stance against sexist, racist, homophobic, or transphobic bullying, as well as any references to disability. Instances of such nature will be met with strict consequences and will be promptly reported to the necessary authorities, including law enforcement.
Let us collaboratively work towards the creation of a supportive, respectful, and secure community.
