Spring Success!

Well done

It’s back to school this week after a much-needed spring break for everyone at Stranraer Academy. The holidays were eventful for some of our students with successes outside of school. Huge congratulations to Aylie Jamieson for being called up to the Scotland Women’s U16 rugby squad. Aylie has trained and played with the squad and is certainly flying the Stranraer Academy and Wigtownshire RFC flag high.

We also have a Scottish Champion in school in the form of Finlay Nelson who competed in the SNAGS swimming event and retained his 50m Fly title! To win the title once is impressive but to retain it after battling with injury shows great determination and dedication.

At the same event, Molly Irvine Watson retained her bronze medal place in the 100m Free, and went one better in the 50m Free to come home with a super silver! 5 days in sunny Aberdeen was definitely worth it!

And finally, congratulations go to our newly crowned world champion curlers, Team Mouat including Stranraer Academy’s former pupil Bobby Lammie on their impressive victory in Canada.

Well done all!
